Drawn by memory, in a familiar courtyard... reuniting every former student since 1964 through 2025.
About
Hafez Maulana Qari Muhsin (may Allah have mercy on him) was born in 1909 CE in the household of Shah Habibullah (RA). He completed hifz of the Quran in childhood, and then travelled to Darul Uloom Deoband to pursue higher education.
He was later advised and prayed for by Hazrat Allama Shabbir Ahmad Usmani (RA) and Hazrat Hussain Ahmad Madani (RA), who recognised his outstanding contribution to the service of the Quran. Taking their encouragement, he served for 17 long years in Mustafizangah teaching the Quran and leading qiyam (tarawih) prayers. In 1964 he founded Muminpur Madrasa. Thereafter this towering figure (known as Bada Hujur) dedicated the rest of his life to the noble work of teaching the Quran, overseeing hifz, and producing qualified huffaz.
After his passing, his elder son Hafez Maulana Khaleed Muhsin (RA) took over responsibility for the institution, and through his tireless efforts the madrasa achieved extensive progress. When he retired owing to age a few years before his passing, his younger brother Rashed Bin Muhsin (D.A.) assumed responsibility for the institution. Today under his capable leadership, the madrasa's educational programme and religious services continue successfully.
An initiative has been taken to publish a historic souvenir of Muminpur Madrasa on the occasion of the 16 December reunion.
We therefore invite you to share any reliable information about Bada Hujur (RA) and the madrasa, and become part of this initiative.
